Homeschooling and Cultivating Life-Long Learning

Meet Jennifer Bernhard: this wife and mom of three shares about her family’s decision to transition to homeschooling after the closing of the school they were all at. And by ALL, I mean, her two boys and herself. She was a teacher by trade who had moved into Administration at a small private school. Faced with the school closing, Jennifer and her husband felt that God was leading them to homeschool. Taking it year by year, Jennifer’s excitement for this opportunity to engage and connect with her family is really inspiring.

Bottom line: If you can’t homeschool for whatever reason, or maybe that is not what you feel called to do (aka, not your cup of tea), don’t panic. Take a deep breath. Figure out what type of learner your child is. Establish your “Why” for whatever learning avenue you choose so when the “going gets tough” you can remind your self of your why and stand by it. Be your child’s advocate. Be family oriented. Be engaged. You can do this! We want to encourage you and hear about your journey. So let us know what you struggle with and what you’ve found success in!
