Obedience Undone

When Your Work Is Undone — and God’s Grace Still Stands

Have you ever taken the time to do the next right thing, only to watch someone come behind you and completely undo what you just did? Maybe it was as small as a clean kitchen being instantly cluttered again… or as significant as a hard-won moment of peace that was shattered. It’s frustrating. It feels discouraging. It even stings a little deeper when we’ve poured our heart into the task.

We’ve all been there.
But what if these moments are more than just inconveniences?
What if they’re a mirror?

As much as it hurts when others undo our work, we need to stop and ask ourselves, Have we ever undone what God has done in our lives?

He’s brought us healing—but we reopen old wounds.
He’s given us peace—but we choose worry again.
He’s offered us clarity and purpose—but we go back to leaning on our own understanding.

It grieves God. Just like it hurts us to see our children undo what we’ve tried to help them with, our Heavenly Father feels the weight of watching us retreat from the freedom He’s lovingly provided. And yet, He never walks away.

Even when we resist Him, He stays.
Even when our obedience is undone, His compassion remains.
Even when we start over, He starts with us.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22-23
“He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6

Friend, if something in your life suddenly gets undone—whether by your own hand or someone else’s—know this: God isn’t finished. He redeems, He restores, and He never gives up on Transforming Every Area of your Life!
