Saying Goodbye to Something You Love

April began the podcast by sharing two verses that came to her while she was getting ready for her goodbye episode. Yes, you read that right. Today, April says goodbye to TEA of Life Podcast.

  1. Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
  2. Matthew 6:11 “Give us this day our daily bread….”

She explains her past few months like this. “You’ve all seen this. The juggler puts plates on long poles and spins them in the air, and he has to constantly watch them and spin them as they are slowing down.”

April continues by talking about all the plates she has spinning in the air; feeling like they are all going to drop at any moment. She makes reference to “the plates in the air”…being… “like the hats that we wear.” She talks about her mom plate, wife plate, work plate, homeschool plate, podcasting plate.

Back around March/April of this year, April started viewing the tasks that she had to do as plates she had to spin in the air. She says that she was spreading herself thin, and unfortunately, not doing any one thing really well. She refers to the old saying, “Jack of all trades, master of none.”

“When I have a project, I like to give time to it. I like to plan out what needs to be done and then tackle it, and if I am working on one task, and am asked to stop and devote unplanned time to another, it throws me off. I don’t like that.”

April decides to say goodbye to TEA of Life Podcast.
“I enjoyed my time as a co-host with Tiffany. I am thankful to have been a part of listeners lives via Podcasting. I loved when people would stop me at church or send a message of their own takeaways from listening to the episodes. I learned about interviewing and speaking and editing. I learned how to stalk people on the internet. KIDDING!” (Ha-Ha! NOT kidding!) “I am grateful for this past year and a half.”

April’s takeaways are:

  1. That she needs to be true to herself and what she feels the Lord calling her to do. am not responsible for anyone else’s feelings towards me.
  2. She is only responsible for herself and her actions.

What is she going to do now, you ask?

April’s response, “I am working on decluttering my life. Not just closets and pantries, garages, and bedrooms. I am working on taking away things that take away from my ONE THING right now. My family. My kids are growing up and I want to enjoy this moment. I will be finishing my summer well. Squeezing everything I can from it. Before buckling down into Homeschooling year. I am enjoying my daily bread.”
