While we can thank jolly ol’ English Traveling writer and historian Alexander William Kinglake for the children’s retort to bully’s, “Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me,”I think the more appropriate (and honest) comeback is
“Sticks and Stones may break our bones, but words will break out hearts.” By Author Robert Fulghum.
Don’t you? I mean, who hasn’t had their emotions hurt by someone’s words, actions, looks, etc. Physical or verbal wounds hurt, and they just suck.
How do we begin our journey to heal our hearts? How about with Danee DeKonty’s Self-Study book “Scorpions, Scones & Your Favorite Playlist. She will challenge you to look at the condition of your own heart and serve as a guide to probe deeper into questions regarding those wounds.
“Everyone’s journey is different, but our Heavenly Father longs to heal all our hearts so we can live out this journey in Freedom.” Danee DeKonty
This Book serves “as a twenty-one-day soundtrack for your conversation with God. Along the way, you will be challenged to look at the condition of your own heart and be given a guide to asking the deeper questions pertaining to its wounds.”
Danee refers to herself as “a fellow sojourner.” (That’s a person who resides temporarily in a place… I had to look it up). She has a passionate heart for showing people the truth for what God has for them. She loves Jesus and has “been playing Barbies with him since… forever.”
Also in the episode, she shares
- missions life,
- becoming an author
